Title

Moving $90,000 of available CIB Contingency funds to the Parks and Recreation Department’s 2016 Capital Maintenance Program to allow for additional drainage measures to address bluff seepage and roadway icing problems along Water Street in Lilydale Regional Park.

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has received bids for construction of the Lilydale Phase III project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation plans to award the lump sum bid and the first alternate that will allow for completion of the full stretch of road; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to take advantage of this opportunity to try to improve the drainage, bluff seepage, and winter season ice problems by including bid alternate #2 to construct a box culvert under the new roadway; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Works agree that it would be most economical to install the culvert while the roadway is being reconstructed; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting use of $90,000 in available contingency funds to allow for award of bid alternate #2 to be included with the project award; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, that $90,000 is available for appropriation in the Department of Parks and Recreation 2016 Capital Maintenance Budget, and as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended.

CIB Recommendation

The CIB Committee did not meet quorum at the July, 2016 meeting.  A non-binding vote was taking of members present and the resolution was recommended for approval.
