Authorizing an amendment to the Police Department 2016 Budget for additional allocation of the 2015 Toward Zero Death grant from Ramsey County.
Body
WHEREAS, Ramsey County was awarded the 2015 Toward Zero Death Enforcement Program grant with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety and had sub-granted $192,046.66 of this grant to the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (RES 15-91); and
WHEREAS, this grant provides funds for the costs of personnel and equipment in its effort to increase compliance with traffic safety laws with particular emphasis on seat belt, child safety and driving while intoxicated and Ramsey County allocated additional funding from this grant to the department in the amount of $40,562; and
WHEREAS, the total grant budget needs to be amended for this increase in the sub grant allocation from Ramsey County; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the city council approves these changes to the 2016 grant budget.
