Accepting the gift of travel, food, and lodging expenses for Anne Hunt to attend the City Energy Project convening hosted by the Institute for Market Transformation and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

WHEREAS, Anne Hunt, City of Saint Paul’s Environmental Policy Director, has been invited to participate the City Energy Project (CEP) convening hosted by the Institute for Market Transformation and the Natural Resources Defense Council in Atlanta, GA on March 24 -25, 2016; and

WHEREAS; CEP is a national initiative from the Institute for Market Transformation and the Natural Resource Defense Council to create healthier and more prosperous American cites by improving the energy efficiency of buildings; and

WHEREAS; working in partnership, the CEP and participating cities support innovative and practical solutions that boost local economies, reduce pollution, and create healthier environments; and

WHEREAS; CEP is funded by a partnership of Bloomberg Philanthropies, Kresge Foundation and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation; and

WHEREAS; during the Paris climate talks, the CEP announced that it had been awarded additional funding to expand their work in 10 new cities; and

WHEREAS, the Institute for Market Transformation and the Natural Resource Defense Council have invited 20 cities, including the City of Saint Paul, to learn more about CEP, to submit a funding proposal and offered to pay up to $1,000 towards the cost of Anne Hunt's travel, food and lodging expenses; and

WHEREAS, attendance at the meeting will provide an opportunity to learn how City Energy Project cities are leveraging participation in the project to achieve their sustainability goals, as well as details on the project’s expansion and how to join this exciting and ambitious intiiative; now, therefore, be it
