Approving the FY2016 Innovation Fund Allocation.

 

Body

WHEREAS, community engagement through a network of seventeen district councils is a cornerstone of Saint Paul's planning, policy development, neighborhood revitalization and crime prevention efforts; and

 

WHEREAS, on December 11, 2013, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul established an Innovation Fund to support district councils and other community-based organizations in their exploration of innovative means of engaging the community and projected there would be $85,000 in this fund for its second funding round in 2016; and

 

WHEREAS, guidelines for the fund, including provision for stipends for nonprofit organizations participating in the review and selection process, were established in 2014; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2016 Innovation Fund Advisory Committee reviewed proposals and recommended the disbursement of $80,475; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that, with the advice of the 2016 Innovation Fund Advisory Committee and the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby approves funding for the FY2016 Cycle Innovation Fund Grant projects, totaling $76,475 as identified in Attachment A; and be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves funding for $1,000 stipends for nonprofit organizations whose representatives served on the 2016 Innovation Fund Advisory Committee, for a total of $4,000, as identified in Attachment B; and be it


FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council wish to extend their appreciation to all who engaged in the 2016 Innovation Fund cycle.
