Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $303,364 to accept the 2014 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to provide training for firefighters.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $303,364 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which has a federal share of $303,364 and a 10% matching fund contribution of $30,336 to provide training for firefighters, and

 

WHEREAS, federal law requires a 10% matching fund contribution and the Saint Paul Fire Department match of $30,336 will be paid from the 2016 budget 10022210-63310-2210022500-63310, and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received, and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $303,364 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 budget;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes to the 2016 budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
