Preliminary Order setting the date of Public Hearing for February 17, 2016 to consider approval of the improvements along Jackson Street: Shepard Road to 11th Street; Kellogg Boulevard: Sibley Street to Jackson Street; and Sibley Street: Shepard Road to Kellogg Boulevard.  File No. 19173, Assessment No. 165202.

 

Body

In the matter of improvements along Jackson Street: Shepard Road to 11th Street; Kellogg Boulevard: Sibley Street to Jackson Street; and Sibley Street: Shepard Road to Kellogg Boulevard.

 

Improvements on Jackson Street from Shepard Road to 11th Street include new concrete surfaced street, concrete curb, globe and bent straw street lights, new signals and signage, permeable asphalt bikeway, concrete sidewalks, landscaping, trees, and street furnishings.

 

Bicycle and pedestrian improvements will be made on Kellogg Boulevard from Sibley to Jackson and on Sibley from Shepard Road to Kellogg.

 

In addition, appropriate storm and sanitary sewer repairs will be made, replacement of the existing water main, lead water services in the right of way will be replaced, and sanitary sewer service repairs will be made at the request of property owners.

 

The Council of the City of Saint Paul, having received the report of the Mayor upon the above improvement and having considered said report, hereby resolves:

 

1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $16,000,000, financed by 8 to 80 Funds, Saint Paul Regional Water, Assessments and project balances.

 

2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 17th day of February, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.

 

3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
