Authorizing the Police Department to accept a donation for the Employee Assistance Program.
Body
WHEREAS, Linda Bartlett, Ph.D., a psychologist in San Francisco treating first responders in the Bay Area, would like to make a $1,000 cash donation in honor of her uncle, Lieutenant Clyde E. Bartlett who passed away in 1987; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bartlett works mostly with the San Francisco Police Department, Behavior Science Unit, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and would like that this donation be used by the Saint Paul Police EAP to help officers who have post-traumatic stress disorder from incidents they incurred while on patrol; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department would like to accept this unsolicited donation to be used as requested; and
WHEREAS, the 2016 financing and spending plan needs to be amended for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Sction 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $1,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2016 budget; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extends its sincere thanks to Linda Bartlett, Pd.D and that the City Coucil approves these changes to the 2016 budget.
