Approving a 2016 maximum property tax levy for the City of Saint Paul.
Body
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 10 of the City Charter, Mayor Coleman presented to the City Council on August 11, 2015 the Mayor's proposed budget; and in accordance with City ordinance, Mayor Coleman presented to the City Council on August 13, 2015 the Library Agency's proposed budget with the combined Mayor's proposed budget and the Library Agency's proposed budget totaling $545,795,727 for operations and $40,463,000 for capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has taken into consideration levy limits imposed by the State of Minnesota and will report on the use of special levies and adherence to levy limits in accordance with State law; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor did recommend, as part of the comprehensive 2016 financing plan for the City of Saint Paul, that the 2015 net property tax levy payable in 2016 be $105,605,943 as detailed below:
