Co-Naming a portion of Fourth Street East from CHS Field to Commercial Street as "Positively 4th Street".

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is delighted to have completed a new baseball park, named CHS Field, in a historic downtown neighborhood, to host its team, the Saint Paul Saints; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to commemorate this event as a positive development for the citizens of Saint Paul and for its team and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the new ballpark abuts a street named Fourth Street; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota native and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bob Dylan released a single in 1965 called “Positively Fourth Street,” which Rolling Stone magazine ranked as one of the greatest 500 songs of all time; and
WHEREAS, Dylan has performed in Saint Paul on numerous occasions during his career, including three sold-out shows at Midway Stadium, the original home of the Saint Paul Saints, and has toured over 100 minor league baseball parks across America with musician Willie Nelson; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul now wishes to co-name the portion of Fourth Street abutting the ballpark “Positively Fourth Street” to add to the positive experience of fans and visitors arriving in downtown to cheer for its baseball team.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the portion of Fourth Street East in downtown Saint Paul from the edge of CHS Field to Commercial Street is hereby co-named “Positively 4th Street.”
