Accepting Livable Communities Tax Base Revitalization Account and LCDA Pre-Development Grants from the Metropolitan Council and Amending the 2014 Budget.
Body
WHEREAS, the City Council on April 23, 2014 by Resolution number 14-609 and July 9, 2014 by Resolution number 14-1158 authorized the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council for Tax Base Revitalization Account Grant for the Mississippi Market and for the Livable Communities LCDA-TOD Predevelopment Account Grant for the North West University and Dale projects; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved Livable Communities Tax Base Revitalization Account grants of $92,000 for the Mississippi Market and LCDA-TOD Predevelopment of $40,000 for the North West University and Dale project site; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $132,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2014 budget and recommends the changes to the 2014 budget identified on Attachment A; and
WHEREAS, after a public hearing the City Council determines there is a public purpose to accept the grants and use them for their intended purposes :
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul accepts these two grants and approves the changes identified on Attachment A to the 2014 budget.
