Approving and authorizing execution of a permit agreement between the City of Saint Paul and Car2Go NA LLC allowing use of Public Right of Way for car sharing services. (Public hearing continued from June 4)
Body
WHEREAS, City controls parking within public rights of way located within City of St. Paul; and
WHEREAS, Car2Go NA LLC operates a free floating, point to point car sharing business in City of Minneapolis and desires to expand to City of St. Paul; and
WHEREAS, Car2Go NA LLC desires to utilize City public right of way to operate the stationing component of its car sharing business; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to help facilitate car sharing by allowing trial use of the right of way, subject to formal provisions outlining the terms and conditions under which such use will be allowed as part of a pilot program; and
WHEREAS, CITY and Car2Go NA LLC desire to enter into an Agreement to define the general terms and conditions in which Car2Go which will be allowed to use the Public Right of Way; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Mayor and proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to enter into an Permit Agreement, a copy of which is before Council and is made a part hereof; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
