Authorizing the City to enter into a professional services agreement with Ward Einess Strategies for lobbying activities.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code §45.03 requires that all contracts for lobbying activities be first authorized by resolution of the city council; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Office wishes to contract with Ward Einess Strategies to assist the city
in lobbying at the state level during the 2014 legislation session in all areas of state tax reform,
including but not limited to:
· changes and to and appropriations for local government aid (LGA);
· City of Saint Paul tax policy provisions; and
· Any other legislative issues arising in 2014 that may affect the City, as identified by the City.
WHEREAS, the city council finds that the scope of services in the proposed agreement are consistent with the city's legislative agenda; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the city council authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached professional services agreements with Ward Einess Strategies.
