Updating and clarifying the membership of the Cultural STAR Board, the appointment process for members, and terms of appointments.
Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 94-1005, the City Council established the Saint Paul Cultural Capital Investment Program and Application Process and
WHEREAS, the resolution designated the nine members of the Saint Paul Cultural District Inc. Board of Directors to review all applications and make funding recommendations for the program; and
WHEREAS, the nine members of the Saint Paul Cultural District Inc. Board of Directors were designated as representatives of the following categories with five members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council and four members elected from members of the Saint Paul Cultural District, Inc.:
2 representatives of large member organizations with annual operating budgets of more than $1,000,000
2 representative of organizations with annual operating budgets between $500,000 and one million dollars
1 representative of member organizations with annual operating budgets of less than $500,000
1 representative of a philanthropic organization
1 representative of the Saint Paul business community
2 at large representatives
and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Cultural District Inc. is no longer a legal entity in the State of Minnesota and there is no identifiable Board of Directors;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that in order to update and clarify the membership of the Cultural STAR Board, the appointment process for members, and the terms of the appointments, the City Council hereby adopts the following:
The Cultural STAR Board will consist of the following nine members to be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council
2 representatives of Large Cultural Organizations (defined by the Cultural STAR Board)
2 representatives of mid-sized cultural organizations (defined by the Cultural STAR Board)
1 representative of a small cultural organization (defined by the Cultural STAR Board)
