Body

WHEREAS,  Mayor Chris Coleman and Marketing Director Jake Spano have been invited to Quebec, Canada the weekend of Friday,  March 15-Sunday, March 17,  2013, to meet with executives of Red Bull to discuss the future of the Red Bull Crashed Ice Event in Saint Paul; and

WHEREAS,  obtaining a commitment to continue the Red Bull Crashed Ice in Saint Paul would benefit the City by providing a fun event for citizens, showcasing the City,  and bringing visitors to the area; and

WHEREAS,   Visit Saint Paul has offered to pay the airfare travel for Mayor Coleman in the amount of $814.23; and

WHEREAS,   Red Bull has offered to pay the travel expenses for both Jake Spano and Mayor Coleman, including hotels, meals, and transportation costs in the amount of $1,355.00; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED,  that the City Council accepts the donation of transportation, meal and lodging costs for the Mayor and the Marketing Director to travel to Quebec, Canada March 15^th to the 17^th,  2013, and thanks Visit Saint Paul and Red Bull for their generous donations.
