Accepting the gift of travel expenses up to $1,500 for Noel Nix to attend the Main Streets Conference on Cultural Economy, held April 13-16, 2013, in New Orleans, LA.

WHEREAS, the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative (CCFC) and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) has invited Noel Nix, Legislative Aide to Councilmember Melvin W. Carter III, to participate in the National Main Streets Conference on Cultural Economy, held April 13-16, 2013, in New Orleans, LA, for the purpose of participating in a learning cohort to share and explore ideas on how we can leverage arts and culture for economic development along the Green Line/Central Corridor.; and
WHEREAS, the CCFC via LISC has granted a scholarship for travel expenses for conference, flight, transportation, lodging and meal costs totaling no more than $1,500, for Noel Nix to attend said event; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accepts the gift of lodging and travel from the CCFC via LISC and appropriates it to the public purpose of Noel Nix's attendance at the conference; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council determines this to have public purpose and the Council extends its thanks and appreciation to the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative and Local Initiatives Support Corporation for its generosity and public service in this matter.
