Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a site lease agreement, which includes an indemnification clause, with the Public Housing Agency of the City of Saint Paul.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a site lease agreement which includes an indemnification clause with the Public Housing Agency of the City of Saint Paul (PHA) for the leasing of a certain property interest at the Front Hi-Rise at 727 Front Avenue; and
WHEREAS, for consideration of one dollar ($1.00) and the covenants as outlined in the lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, the lease term shall begin on the "Commencement Date" as defined in section 2. of the lease agreement and shall end on January 1, 2017; and,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached lease agreement with the Public Housing Agency of the City of Saint Paul.
