Granting permanent and temporary highway easements to MnDOT for the Lafayette Bridge Project, Kittson Exchange.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (the "City") owns land identified as parcel numbers 32-29-22-24-0149 <tel:32-29-22-24-0149> and 32-29-22-31-0057 <tel:32-29-22-31-0057>, located north of East 7th Street and east of Kittson Street (the "City Property"), as depicted in Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation ("MnDOT") is constructing a new roadway that will re-route northbound Lafayette bridge traffic to East 7th Street over the City Property, and is requesting a permanent highway easement and temporary construction easement from the City for said roadway, as depicted in Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT has offered to purchase said permanent and temporary easements for Two Hundred Eighty-Three and 00/100 ($283,000.00), and the Real Estate manager has determined this to be a fair and reasonable value as determined by an independent appraisal and agreed to between the City and MnDOT; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Saint Paul, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to grant said permanent and temporary easements to MnDOT, execute an Offer to Sell and Memorandum of Conditions and a Highway Easement in a form and content substantially as set forth in Exhibit B attached hereto, and accept payment for said easements to be depositied in an appropriate city account.
