Title
Authorizing the Police Department to enter into an agreement with Walsh Construction Company, AKA Walsh Group Construction, and to amend the department's 2012 special fund budget.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) request authorization to enter into the contract with Walsh Construction, Inc. aka Walsh Group Construction to provide on duty police services for the affected areas related to the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit Project; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 financing and spending plan needs to be amended for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $23,970 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2012 budget; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached agreement with the Walsh Construction, Inc.; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the 2012 budget.
