Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $1,397,280 to accept the 2011 Assistance to Firefighter Grant to provide training and purchase equipment.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $1,746,600.00 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which has a federal share of $1,397,280.00 and 20% matching funds of $349,320.00 to provide ICS training through Blue Card, Incident Safety Officer training, simulation training, and to purchase some computer equipment, and
WHEREAS, this is a regional grant that the Fire Department will manage and it involves 18 other fire departments, and
WHEREAS, federal law requires a 20% matching fund contribution and the Saint Paul Fire Department's match of $80,000.00 will be paid from P5/001-05120-0141-50130, and
WHEREAS, the remaining 20% matching fund contribution of $269,320.00 will be provided by the other departments involved with this grant, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following addition be made to the 2012 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes to the 2012 budget.
