Authorizing the Fire Department to accept a grant of $49,999 from the University of Minnesota to purchase 13 LUCAS chest compression devices.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department applied for and received a grant of $49,999.00 from the University of Minnesota to purchase 13 LUCAS chest compression devices, and
WHEREAS, the LUCAS chest compression devices are designed to deliver uninterrupted compressions at a consistent rate and will be used by paramedics providing emergency medical services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accept this grant and extend their sincere appreciation to the University of Minnesota.
