Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Public Works in the amount of $520,000 to accept Federal Grant and establish local match to fund Griggs Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements.
Body
WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works has been awarded Federal funding under the Transit for Livable Communities Program in the amount of $400,000 for a project known as Griggs Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements from Summit Avenue to Minnehaha Avenue in Saint Paul, and
 
WHEREAS, the Department has worked with the community in establishing the proposed improvements along Griggs Street to include: traffic circles, bump outs, new crosswalks, pedestrian and bicycle detection, pavement markings, speed display signs, a shared use trail and lantern style street lighting system, and
 
WHEREAS, this resolution establishes the Griggs Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements as an approved 2012 Public Works capital project with the budget detailed herein, and  
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $520,000  in the Capital Improvement Budgets; so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $520,000 is available for appropriation in the Capital Improvement Budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the Capital Improvement Budgets in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
