Accepting grant/donations and approving budgets for library projects
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency applied for and has been awarded a federal grant of $100,000 (over 2 years) from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for Learning Labs in Libraries, and
WHEREAS, the Otto Bremer Foundation has granted $468,000 to the Saint Paul Public Library Agency, through the Friends of the Library, in 2012 for library materials, the automated handling project, Mobile WORKplace and Digital Literacy, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency was awarded a $25,000 Neighborhood Star grant and has fund balances available from MELSA to continue the implementation of the automated handling projects begun in 2011 at the Merriam Park and Rondo Outreach Library locations, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans for these monies has not been established, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.7.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $644,741 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 budget and recommends the changes to the 2012 budget described in the attached fiscal analysis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Library Board accepts the grants and donations and approves the changes to the 2012 Adopted Budget, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that said budget, as heretofore adopted by the Library Board is hereby amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis form.
