Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $378,700 to reflect additional 2023 funding expected from Como Friends.

WHEREAS, Como Friends is a registered not-for-profit organization formed to promote, support, preserve and enhance the Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory; and

WHEREAS, the Como Friends' mission is to advance Como Park Zoo and Conservatory as a destination where people from all walks of life can gather, learn and enjoy the natural world; and

WHEREAS, Como Friends is donating an additional $378,700 to support and enhance the Japanese Garden and the Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to establish new budgets in the Grant Fund to receive the projected contribution and donation revenues of $15,000 for the Tropical Encounters Leaf Cutter Ants, $50,000 for the Tropical Encounters Soil Replacement, $30,000 for the Conservation Champions, $53,000 for the Conservation Strategic Plan, $4,000 for the Apprentice Program Supplies, $58,000 for the Integrated Pest Management - Biological Controls & Scouting Software, $50,000 for the Victorian Water Garden Design, $14,600 for the North Garden Lights, $20,000 for the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory Sound System, $12,000 for the Visitor Banners, $4,500 for the Freezer & Dish Washer, $15,000 for the Cats Restraint Crate/Scale, $5,000 for the Enrichment Items Wish List, $6,000 for the Polar Bear Head Training Crate, $6,200 for the Spectrophotometer, $4,400 for the Tonovet Plus Tonometer, $21,000 for the Powell 2023, $10,000 for the Service Road Trees; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $378,700 in excess of those estimated in the 2023 budget; now, therefore, be it
