Title

Authorizing an increase in the Department of Parks and Recreation Grant Fund in the amount of $10,000 to reflect funds from the Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) grant program, to support the BIPOC Parks Ambassadors Program, and authorizing the proper city officials to enter into a grant agreement with the CRWD.

Body

 

WHEREAS, by CF #22-1648 the Department of Parks and Recreation applied for and has received a Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) grant in the amount of $10,000 to support the BIPOC Parks Ambassadors Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the CRWD requires that the Department of Parks and Recreation enter into a grant agreement that details the conditions of the grant; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in accepting funds to provide quality, nature-based programming opportunities, equipment, and field trips to the youth of Saint Paul and will permit the programming to move forward; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said funding and increase the Grant Fund budget for the project in the amount of $10,000; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no match required of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies of the BIPOC Parks Ambassadors Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $10,000 in excess of those estimated in the current Grant Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes acceptance of the grant funds and approves these amendments for the Life-to-Date Grant Budget; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to execute the necessary grant agreement with the CRWD to accept and utilize these funds.
