Authorizing the City to accept a donation of $3,109 from Ramsey County for the travel expenses of Nicolle Goodman, Sean Kershaw and Russ Stark for traveling to Kansas City with Ramsey County at Ramsey County’s invitation to learn about street cars.

WHEREAS, Ramsey County staff and elected leaders invited Nicolle Goodman, Director of Planning and Economic Development, Sean Kershaw, Director of Public Works, and Russ Stark, Chief Resilience Officer to travel to Kansas City with Ramsey County staff and elected leadership on the 28th and 29th of November 2022 to see and learn about street cars from local leaders; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul collaborates with community partners like local governments, nonprofits organizations and Ramsey County to develop implementation plans for the Riverview Corridor Transitway; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is evaluating and proposing alternatives to the current rail and bus system; and
WHEREAS, staff from Planning and Economic Development, the Mayor’s Office, and Public Works are considering street cars and other possible alternatives; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County paid for lodging, airfare, and meals for this visit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the City of Saint Paul to accept the donation of $3,109 from Ramsey County to cover travel, meals and lodging expenses for Nicolle Goodman, Sean Kershaw and Russ Stark representing the City of Saint Paul, and thanks them for their generosity.
