Authorizing the Fire Department to apply for the 2021 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant in the amount of $31,500 from the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety for training for firefighters.

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2021 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to provide training for firefighters; and

WHEREAS, the total grant amount is $31,500 and the State of Minnesota portion for the training would be $25,200; and

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 25% in-kind match of $6,300 which would be met with the salaries of the firefighters attending the training; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, the City Council authorized the Fire Department to apply for the 2021 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
