Authorizing the Police Department's expenditures relating to the Canine Unit’s community engagement meetings, community engagement events, and training sessions in 2023.
Body
WHEREAS, the Police Canine Unit conducts multiple professional training sessions and participates in training exercises with multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Police Canine Unit hosts multiple community engagement meetings and events throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose is to foster the department’s commitment to trusted service with respect in the community; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Police Department is requesting authorization to expense food, beverage, and admittance costs for officers that are required to be in attendance, to the Police 2023 General Fund and Special Fund budgets; and
BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2023 city budget, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $4,000 to cover these expenses.
