Authorizing stipend payments for the Early Learning Legislative Advisory Committee

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council adopted Resolution 22-1549 on September 28, 2022 establishing the Early Learning Legislative Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Council has established that the Committee should include a diverse membership representing multiple perspectives; and
WHEREAS, to accommodate participation from community members and childcare providers, the meetings have been scheduled to go beyond normal working hours; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council determines it is in the public interest to provide a nominal stipend to support these community advisors who bring valuable perspectives to this issue and whose presence builds public trust and ensures transparency and accountability; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council establishes a $35 stipend per meeting for committee members, which is intended to help defray expenses associated with participating on the Committee
