Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into Lease Agreement between the City and Como Friends for portions of the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Gift Shop.

WHEREAS, the City is the owner of the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, located at 1225 Estabrook Drive Saint Paul, MN 55103; and
WHEREAS, Como Friends has worked closely with the City since 2000 to promote and advance the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory; and
WHEREAS, Since incorporation, Como Friends has raised and invested more than $46 million into Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, including proceeds from Garden Safari Gifts. Each year these proceeds help support annual investments in program and improvements to benefit animals, gardens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City and Como Friends wish to enter into an agreement for retail and storage space; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council authorize the appropriate City officials to enter into the attached Agreement.
