Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for all costs incurred to hold a graduation ceremony for 12 new paramedics on September 6, 2022 at the Wellstone Center.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department is holding a formal graduation ceremony for the 12 new paramedics on September 6, 2022  at the Wellstone Center; and

 

WHEREAS, the ceremony recognizes the achievement of the new paramedics and includes a reception where light refreshments and cookies will be served; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department received a 2019 Assistance to Firefighter grant to pay for the firefighters to receive paramedic training; and

 

WHEREAS, the expenditure of money for the light refreshments and cookies serves a public purpose by celebrating the successful graduation of the 12 paramedics and increasing the number of paramedics in the department, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the expenditures of funds not to exceed $100 for the reception for the graduating paramedics.
