Recognizing Saint Paul Public Library Volunteers

Whereas, Volunteer Recognition Week is in April of each year; and
Whereas, Saint Paul Public Library (SPPL) has hundreds of volunteers that support our staff and patrons; and
Whereas, over the last year, 305 volunteers from the age of 13 to 87 have contributed over 5,000 hours to SPPL; and
Whereas, each volunteer brings a special gift to share with our community from helping with homework, supporting special events, assisting with programming, beautifying our spaces, gardening, cheering on reluctant readers and more; and
Whereas, we recognize the value of their work and honor their contributions by celebrating the spirit of volunteerism in our community and expressing our gratitude; and
Whereas, we also offer gratitude to SPPL’s volunteer coordinator Austine Vaughn-Bergling and the members of the Volunteer Recognition Advisory Committee: Jada Claiborne, Caitlin Kempainen, Isaac Mielke, Sovanneary Phann Sweere, Mai K. Yang, Eric Yang, and Eric Whalen for their input and recommendations as well as the Volunteer Liaisons who work to coordinate recognition activities at their branches; therefore be it
Resolved, SPPL Board offers their sincere and heartfelt thanks all SPPL volunteers, and all staff who assist in the coordination and support for volunteers across our city.
