Authorizing the City to enter into an agreement with Metropolitan Council for the installation of transit signal priority equipment on Route 63 and Ford Parkway.
Body
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council operates bus transit service on Cretin Avenue, Grand Avenue, Smith Avenue, 3rd Street, White Bear Avenue, and Ford Parkway in Saint Paul and wants to improve travel time and reliability for local service bus routes traveling on those corridors by adding a transit signal priority (TSP) system; and
WHEREAS, the City operates and maintains the traffic signals on those roadways; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council and the City have identified improvements to implement TSP on those corridors; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to construct and supervise the work performed as outlined in the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has agreed to reimburse the City for the costs of this work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to enter into Metropolitan Council Agreement No. 20I073, a copy of which is before Council and is made a part hereof; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
