Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Amy Brendmoen to the Saint Paul Port Authority for a term ending on July 31, 2023.

WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 469.050 (Subdivision 1) states that the Saint Paul Port Authority consists of seven (7) commissioners, two of whom must be members of the Saint Paul City Council, appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Council President Amy Brendmoen expressed an interest in serving as a commissioner on the Saint Paul Port Authority and is currently a Saint Paul City Councilmember representing the Fifth Ward; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Dai Thao, a current member of the Saint Paul Port Authority with a term ending on July 31, 2023, intends to step down leaving a vacancy to be occupied by Saint Paul City Council President Brendmoen with a term ending on July 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Council President Brendmoen will serve the remainder of Councilmember Dai Thao's term to the Saint Paul Port Authority ending on July 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Council President Amy Brendmoen to the Saint Paul Port Authority to a term ending on July 31, 2023; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council consents to the appointment of Council President Amy Brendmoen to a term ending July 31, 2023, as a commissioner on the Saint Paul Port Authority
