Appeal of Wessam Sonbol to a Vacant Building Registration Requirement at 1446 RICE STREET.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  July 12, 2022 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:    I recently paid the vacant building registration.  The apartments hae been closed and currently in the final inspection phase, waiting on restaurant appliances to arrive in order to close out the permits.  Appliances were due to arrive early June and now pushed out to July 15.  Please give me time to install and close out permits before end of August.

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  appealed 2021-2022 VB fee; this is for VB fee 2022-2023.  Cat 1 commercial  opened 7/16/19 due to a fire.  Bldg was secured by Respro.

WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of Wessam Sonbol to a Vacant Building Registration Requirement at 1446 Rice Street, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive the vacant building fee to October 16, 2022; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
