WHEREAS, The Aspen Institute is a global nonprofit organization founded in 1949, committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society through dialogue, leadership, and action to help solve the most important challenges facing the United States and the world; and
WHEREAS, The Aspen Institute will hold the 2022 Aspen Ideas Festival from June 25, 2022, through July 1, 2022, in Aspen, Colorado, bringing together journalists, designers, innovators, politicians, diplomats, presidents, judges, musicians, artists, and writers; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has been invited to attend and participate on a panel on June 28, 2022, as part of the 2022 Aspen Ideas Festival; and
WHEREAS, the Aspen Institute has offered to cover the travel expenses, lodging and meals for the Mayor to attend and participate on the panel; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses, lodging and meals for the Mayor to attend to attend “Aspen Ideas Festival - Celebrating 10yrs of Ascend Fellowship” in Aspen, Colorado on June 28-29, 2022 and thanks the Aspen Institute for its generous gift.
