Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Emergency Management for the 2022 Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Grant for $2,000,000 for portable radios.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has applied for and received a grant of $2,000,000 from the Department of Justice for the 2022 Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Grant to purchase portable radios; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved RES 21-562 on April 14, 2021 to support the City's request for federal funding to purchase replacement radio equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved RES 22-827 on June 1, 2022 to apply for the 2022 COPS grant; and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $2,000,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2022 budget;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby approves the changes to the 2022 budget referenced in this resolution.
