Pertaining to a Fourth Rider to Lease Agreement with the City of Saint Paul to provide for improvements to the City’s canine training facility at the McCarron’s Water Treatment Plant property.



Body
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul (the “Board”) adopted Resolution No. 2742 which authorized a Lease Agreement between the Board and the City of Saint Paul (the “City”) allowing the City to construct and maintain a canine kennel facility for and on behalf of the Saint Paul Police Department for the purpose of a regional police canine team training and exercise program on certain Board-owned property at the Board’s McCarron’s Water Treatment Plant (the “Lease”); and

WHEREAS, the Lease, as amended from time to time, requires prior Board approval, authorizing in writing, to allow the City to make any changes or additions to the exterior of the canine kennel facility or any other portions of the leased premises; and

WHEREAS, the City desires to construct additions to the existing structure for an additional indoor training area and two outdoor kennel areas along with improvements to the existing outdoor training area within the leased premises; and

WHEREAS, Board staff has reviewed the conceptual designs for such improvements and finds that present and future Board operations will not be hampered by the construction of said improvements; and

WHEREAS, Board staff has prepared a Fourth Rider to Lease Agreement which amends the Lease to allow for the construction of said improvements and the city attorney’s office has reviewed and approved said Fourth Rider as to form; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Board does hereby approve the Fourth Rider to Lease Agreement with the City allowing for the construction of building additions and outdoor training facility improvements at the City’s canine training center located at the Board’s McCarron’s Water Treatment Plant property and that the proper officers are hereby authorized ...
