Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a hard surface futsal court, valued at $100,000, provided by the Minnesota United, Major-League Soccer and the US Soccer Foundation for Valley Park.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation develops and maintains sites for outdoor recreation of all types throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota United, Major League Soccer and the US Soccer Foundation, wish to build a hard surface Futsal Court, located at Valley Park in Ward 1, as part of Major League Soccer’s All-Star Game initiative; and
WHEREAS, the grant donation, if accepted, will allow Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to add a new and desired amenity within Valley Park; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation wishes to accept the donation of the said hard surface futsal court; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby requested to approve the acceptance of the hard futsal court and recognize the effort and commitment of the Minnesota United, the US Soccer Foundation, and Major League Soccer for their contribution to the City; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of said equipment at Valley Park and thanks the Minnesota United, the US Soccer Foundation, and Major League Soccer for their generous contribution to the City.
