Butler, Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO), HREEO Deputy Director Andrea Ledger, and Public Works Director Sean Kershaw to attend “Leading City Procurement Reform” Program in Cambridge, MA from May 9, 2022-May 13, 2022.

WHEREAS, the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative’s Leading City Procurement Reform program will convene at Harvard University on May 9, 2022 and end on May 13, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Leading City Procurement Reform program, is designed to equip leaders with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to help lead their city’s efforts to innovate, adapt, and drive ever-improving impact, as well as help them tackle a procurement priority of their city; and
WHEREAS, Leaders from across the country taking part in the program will learn from real world cases, state of the art research, and from one another. They will focus on making procurement more innovative, efficient, results-driven, and equitable; and
WHEREAS, HREEO and Public Works are working together to create a robust supplier diversity initiative, which has the goal of increasing equity in contracting; and
WHEREAS, through their participation, HREEO Director Kristien R. E. Butler, HREEO Deputy Director Andrea Ledger, and Public Works Director Sean Kershaw will have the opportunity to engage with other municipalities, and explore ways to increase equity in city contracting; and
WHEREAS, the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative has offered to pay travel expenses, including airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals to HREEO Director Kristien R. E. Butler, HREEO Deputy Director Andrea Ledger, and Public Works Director Sean Kershaw ...
