Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for grant funds of $100,000 from the Minnesota Twins Community Fund to support youth baseball and softball.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs significant services for residents of the Metropolitan area and all Minnesota residents through its ownership and operation of its parks, trails, and amenities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to apply for up to $100,000 in grant funds from the Minnesota Twins Community Fund to support youth baseball and softball; and
WHEREAS, grant funds would allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide equipment and league fees for those Saint Paul youth interested in playing baseball and softball; and
WHEREAS, there is no required match of these funds by the City; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Parks and Recreation
Department to apply for said grant from the Minnesota Twins Community Fund.
