Approving the Mayor's appointments of Bethany Gladhill, Jon Jee Schill, Georgina Chinchilla Gonzalez, Cheniqua Johnson, and Shannon Forney to the Cultural STAR Board.
Body
WHEREAS, RES 94-1005 and RES 13-690 state that the Cultural STAR Board shall consist of nine members with two from a large cultural organization, two from a medium sized cultural organization, one from a small cultural organization, one from a philanthropic organization, one from a Saint Paul business, and two at large members; and
WHEREAS, RES 94-1005 and RES 13-690 state that at least four members of the Cultural STAR Board must be residents of Saint Paul with the rest living and working in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, Maia Maiden, of Maia Maiden Productions, has taken a role with the Ordway Center for Performing Arts and will be continuing her term as a representative from a large cultural organization; and
WHEREAS, Shannon Forney, of Workhorse Coffee, was appointed by Mayor Carter and approved by the Saint Paul City Council (RES 19-293) for a term on the Cultural STAR Board ending December 31, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Bethany Gladhill, Jon Jee Schill, Georgina Chinchilla Gonzalez, and Cheniqua Johnson have applied for appointment on the Cultural STAR Board; and
WHEREAS, Georgina Chinchilla Gonzalez, of Commusication represents a Small Cultural Organization; and
WHEREAS, Bethany Gladhill of FilmNorth and Jon Jee Schill of Theater Mu represent Mid-Size Cultural Organizations; and
WHEREAS, Cheniqua Johnson or Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation represents a Philanthropic Organization; and
WHEREAS, Georgina Chinchilla Gonzalez, Bethany Gladhill, Jon Jee Schill are Saint Paul residents; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Bethany Gladhill, Jon Jee Schill, Georgina Chinchilla Gonzalez, and Cheniqua Johnson to a three-year term on the Cultural STAR Board; now, therefore be it
