Authorizing the Department of Emergency Management to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota for the 2019 Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI) grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Emergency Management received a grant of $900,000 from the State of Minnesota for the 2019 UASI Grant to purchase CBRNE equipment, EOC equipment, and provide staffing for Emergency Management; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota is offering to extend the 2019 UASI Grant period of performance through May 31, 2022 to give the Department of Emergency Management additional time to spend the grant money and complete the projects; and
WHEREAS, the original grant agreement was approved on PH 20-112 and the first grant amendment was approved on RES 21-1128; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant contract amendment for a time line extension with the State of Minnesota as provided by the Department of Emergency Management.
