Title

Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for up to $402,000 from the Saint Paul Public School’s (SPPS) Community Partnership for 2022-2024 ARP grant to support the Mental Health Initiative project.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs significant services for residents of the Metropolitan area and all Minnesota residents through its ownership and operation of its parks, trails, and amenities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to apply for, and if awarded, accept up to $402,000 in grant funds from SPPS to support the Mental Health Initiative project; and

 

WHEREAS, grant funds would allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide quality, professional mental health services to Saint Paul youth who utilize Saint Paul recreation centers; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no match amount required of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies of the Mental Health Initiative project; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreation to apply for, and if approved, accept said grant, and utilize funds as approved for the project herein.
