Approving the application with conditions, per the Deputy Legislative Hearing Officer, for Piston Automotive Co. (License ID #20210002268), d/b/a Piston Auto, located at 1324 Arcade St. Unit A, for an Auto Repair Garage license.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Piston Automotive Co. (License ID #20210002268), d/b/a Piston Auto, located at 1324 Arcade St. Unit A, has applied for a Class N license to apply for an Auto Repair Garage license; and

 

WHEREAS, a notification regarding the license application was sent from the Department of Safety and Inspections to the affected neighborhood for the period of January 31, 2022, to March 4, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, during the notification period, an objection was received which triggered the hearing and a hearing was held on March 10, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, the objection was related to “crowded streets…hir[ing] bad employees [and] a murder one house down from [objector]; and

 

WHEREAS, after conducting the hearing and considering the testimonies and evidence, the Deputy Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the application for an Auto Repair Garage license from Piston Automotive Co.(License ID #20210002268), d/b/a Piston Auto, located at 1324 Arcade St. Unit A, be approved with the following conditions:

 

1.  All business vehicles, employee vehicles, and customer vehicles (awaiting repair or that have been repaired and are awaiting pick-up) shall not be parked on the sidewalk or boulevard (paved area between sidewalk and city street),

2.  Weather resistant signage shall be installed and maintained on the outside of the building nearby the vehicle entry doors along Ivy Avenue E stating “No parking on the sidewalk or Boulevard” with a minimum two (2) inch letter height.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby approves this license application with the aforementioned agreed-upon conditions.

 

The Conditions Affidavit was signed on March 10, 2022.
