Pertaining to a Master Agreement with GreenMark Solar, Inc. for the purchase of solar power for use in SPRWS operations.
Body
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul (“Board”) understands that the generation of solar power reduces air pollution and dependence on nonrenewable energy sources; and
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to improve the overall health of all its customers, now and in the future, by use of renewal energy thereby helping to stem the tide of climate change; and
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to use renewable energy in its operations whenever possible to help accomplish that goal; and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated a master agreement with GreenMark Solar Inc. (“Agreement”) which will govern all ensuing subordinate subscription agreements to purchase solar power generated by its community solar gardens when feasible; and
WHEREAS, the Assistant City Attorney has reviewed and approved the Agreement as to form; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Board hereby authorizes its General Manager of Saint Paul Regional Water Services or its designee to enter into the Agreement and to execute any subordinate solar power subscription agreements as may be required for the purchase of solar power generated by community solar gardens as the power becomes available and may be needed in the course of SPRWS operations.
