Title

Authorizing an increase in the 2021 Office of Technology and Communications special fund grant budget in the amount of $220,000 to reflected newly accepted grant funding from the Knight Foundation.

Body

WHEREAS, on August 11, 2021 the Council approved RES 21-1095, authorizing the appropriate City officials to apply for and accept a total of $200,000 from the Knight Foundation for the Tech for All initiative; and

WHEREAS, on August 11, 2021 the Council approved RES 21-1096, authorizing the appropriate City officials to apply for and accept a total of $20,000 from the Knight Foundation for evaluation technology; and

WHEREAS, the Office of Technology and Communications has applied for and accepted funds in total of $220,000 from the Knight Foundation for promoting technology products that have a positive social impact; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the City Charter, does certify that there are available for appropriation total funds of $220,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2021 Technology and Communications special fund grant budget, and now therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $220,000 is available for appropriation in the 2021 Technology and Communications special fund grant budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
