Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept site furnishings including picnic tables and grill, valued at $7,000, for Hamline Park, donated by the Friends of Hamline Park and Hamline Midway Coalition.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation develops and maintains sites for outdoor recreation of all types throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, Friends of Hamline Park secured a grant from US Soccer Foundation to enhance the Mini-Pitch/Futsal Court by creating a community gathering area, located at Hamline Park in Ward 4; and
WHEREAS, the donation, if accepted, will allow Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to replace aged site furnishings at Hamline Park; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation wishes to accept the donation of the said site furnishings; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby requested to approve the acceptance of the picnic tables and grill and recognize the effort and commitment of the staff at Friends of Hamline Park for their contribution to the City; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of said equipment at Hamline Park and thanks the Friends of Hamline Park and Hamline Midway Coalition for their generous gift.
