Accepting a donation from the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation to provide support to the Canine Unit.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to provide financial support for the Saint Paul Police Canine Unit; and
WHEREAS, the K-9 Foundation has received multiple donations and gifts for payment of certain costs associated with the Canine Unit including materials used by volunteers for maintenance, landscaping and repair work to the Saint Paul Police Canine Cemetery and areas around the building along with Police Canine Handler Trading Cards and Police Canine COE squad mockups for community engagement purposes; and
WHEREAS, the estimated value of this donation from the St. Paul K-9 Foundation is $6,423.00; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation through the St. Paul Police K-9 Foundation to honor our fallen Canine Officers; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation.
