Title
Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to execute the attached Lease Agreement between City and Circus of the Star, a non-profit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota and doing business as “Circus Juventas”.
Body
WHEREAS, the City and Circus Juventas have a long partnership and prior lease agreements that have made Circus Juventas a well-known and appreciated fixture in the Saint Paul community; and
WHEREAS, the existing lease agreement between City and Circus Juventas is set to expire October 31, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department wish to continue the relationship with Circus Juventas and believe it will benefit the community; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code requires that any lease of parkland or recreation facilities which will be for a period of more than one year be approved by the City Council following a hearing before the Parks and Recreation Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Commission has reviewed the proposed Agreement and recommends it as acceptable to City Council and ; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into the attached Lease Agreement.
