Authorizing the Police Department to accept and amend the 2021 budget and activity for these donations of $45,000 from the Grotto Foundation and $8,000.00 from the GALA Giving Fundraiser for the LECPA program via the Saint Paul Police Foundation.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department has received these donations from the Grotto Foundation and the GALA Giving Fundraiser via the Saint Paul Police Foundation in the amounts of $45,0000.00 and $8,000.00; and
WHEREAS, these donations will support the Law Enforcement Career Path Academy (LECPA) program; and
WHEREAS, the LECPA program supports diverse young adults to pursue a degree and work experience in law enforcement and aims to ensure that the police department personnel are representative of the residents of the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the 2021 budget and activity budget need to be amended for these donations; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $53,000.00 in the Special Fund; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council accepts these donations and thanks the Grotto Foundation and the Saint Paul Police Foundation for their generous donations.
